With more than one third of the nation’s population growth (2003), Queensland is Australia’s fastest growing state. In addition, a KPMG Report on Population Growth, states that the area north of Brisbane is outpacing other major Australian regions, including the booming Brisbane-Gold Coast Corridor.
All of which points to a stronger property sales market and the possibility of
excellent capital gains on investment
as a consequence of growth and lifestyle.
An independent Matusik Profile recently
undertook an investigation into the
performance of water-based residential land. Using examples across Southeast Queensland, the investigation found that
the price of water-based land rose by
34.3% p.a. between 1999 and 2003.
Whereas land situated away from the water, rose by only 14.6% p.a. during the same five year period.
